Chef Manager

Unit Description
Sodexo is seeking a Chef Manager for our University account at University of the Nations in Kailua Kona, HI - a Christian based campus run by volunteers as part of their disciple program. Every 3 months the volunteers will cycle out of campus to do their Disciple Teaching Schooling off island. Most of their DTS will take them abroad. Another new group of volunteers will take their place and the cycle continues all year round. It is very crucial to have a calm demeanor as you continue to train new volunteers all year round.
This Chef Manager will report to the General Manager and oversee all culinary operations for this 7 day a week operation feeding 700 boarders, with support from hourly full time employees and volunteers. This position is very much a "Hands On" role and will manage all aspects of the kitchen: culinary training; safety and sanitation; inventory control; coordinating, training and scheduling food service volunteers. The Ideal candidate will have:
Previous kitchen management experience, from school, hospital, resort, hotel or large restaurant environment.
Experience with systems for ordering, inventory.
Experience working with and training a volunteer staff.
Strong food sanitation background and ability to train and enforce.
Seeking local candidates - the experience of island culture, cuisine and workforce will be benificial in this role.

Position Summary
Supervises cooks and oversees the preparation, portioning, garnishing, and storage of food. Estimates food consumption and purchases food. May assist in cooking and preparing food as necessary. Responsible for maintaining kitchen and storage facilities in sanitary condition. Responsible for cash management. Interacts with client/customers on a regular basis. This position is the leader for an account/unit chef/production group. This position is in smaller accounts/units where there is not a Executive Chef or Food Production Manager. Reports to General Manager.
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
