For Sale: 1955 Chevrolet Nomad in Kailua-Kona , Hawaii for sale in Kailua Kona, HI
Vehicle Description This 1955 Nomad is currently garaged in Kona, Hawaii and is seriously for sale, The body number is CL 6515 which indicates it was originally assembled in Cleveland Ohio.
Nomad production in 1955 was 8,530 This Nomad was purchased by myself in 1991 in Long Beach California and shipped to Hawaii where it was mechanically modified with the addition of a 350 cubic inch small block mated to a Tremic 5 speed transmission.
A disc brake conversion was also added to the front as well as a new driveline.
This Nomad also has four new BF Goodrich tires mounted on rally rims.
The car has only been driven once briefly since the transmission install.
I believe it needs a lower ratio rear end as it is geared very high at the moment.
Something the new owner should consider doing.
Also I would recommend adding power steering to make it easier to drive.
The body is in good shape and only has a couple of small dents or imperfections.
I would recommend a new paint job as the previous owner had the hood repainted and it was not a good job.
There are a couple of areas that will need attention due to some previous rust issues.
This would be the tailgate area and passenger side rocker panels.
Steps were taken several yeas ago to limit the progression of rust.
The interior is in good shape and I believe it to be original.
Also, all interior trim pieces are in good shape as well.
